National Honor Society

img_NHSNational Honor Society is an association of students that stresses scholarship. leadership, character and service. In order to become a member, one must be nominated by a current teacher, meet basic application requirements (3.7 weighted GPA, good citizenship), and be selected by the executive board.  Selection is based on applicants’ essay, evidence of leadership, and letter of recommendation.  NHS members are required to serve their peers as tutors, their school and community in service projects. Some of the benefits of becoming a member are: the national organization offers many scholarships for members, they are recognized as exemplary students, and they have the opportunity to engage in enjoyable activities with the other members.

Applications for National Honor Society are available Monday, March 13 through March 17 in Ms. Nezam’s room, P47 or Mrs. Moseman’s room, P55. Applications are due by March 20.
